James Hurysz

James Hurysz was born in New York City shortly after the conclusion of World War II. As a matter of fact, both of his parents were born in the city. In Western and Central New York, he attended private schools that helped him become ready for college. After that, Jim spent two years in the United States Army. As a Quality Assurance specialist, he worked for a number of significant industrial organizations before joining the US Department of Commerce.

James Hurysz, a former government employee, currently works as a quality assurance consultant for a number of significant industrial firms in the Northeast. Jim moved to Arlington County from the Northeast because of the decline in manufacturing there. His QA consulting services, which included information QA, were made available to industrial firms in the Southeast.

Because of this, James Hurysz chose to run in the Democratic primary for Arlington Board of Supervisors. After leaving the Democratic Party, he ran for Congress twice as an Independent (2004, 2006). The Commonwealth of Virginia does not need party registration, and it is normal for candidates to run as Independents for public office.) He ran on a platform that called for the United States to stay out of third-world conflicts and to be ready for the tremendous population growth expected in the twenty-first century.

After running for Congress, James Hurysz became more concerned about the declining quality of life in his hometown as a consequence of the city's rapid urbanization. He supported candidates for local, state and national office because they shared his concern for improving the quality of life in the community. To ensure the long-term stability of the economy, environment, and society, he continued offering quality assurance (QA) services to industrial businesses after Jim's death.
